There is a famous East African saying that goes like this – The one who digs a well will go in himself! A Chinese one goes like this – If you dig a grave for your enemy – dig two graves! And keep one for yourself!

I am watching with great concern and consternation unfolding events in Ukraine where it is most likely for a full scale war to now erupt at anytime – from a fast changing scene a few days back where it seemed the violent demonstrations that took so many lives were ending and with a peace deal in the formation! All these things have now changed conversely for the worse instead!

As an Omani I am very proud and in holding my head high with pride and esteem with our HM and country policies of  ‘non intervention’ in the affairs of other countries! This is the reason why Oman is highly respected and esteemed in the international arena!

Oman did not rush to offer aid to Egypt (even if it could!) to Egypt after the violent bloody put down of demonstrations army led and to overthrow a democratically elected government – even if the win was by a thin margin! Democracy is democracy – even if you hate and dislike the winners! And the rule applies to all – not only to Western countries! Either you do it – or don’t! There is no middle ground here!

Please do not get me wrong! I am not a Muslim Brotherhood supporter – even by default or inadvertently! I wrote an article titled – Morsi: A Question of Management? – where my views are explicitly clear! I may even dare to going to say with audacity that Religion and Politics do not mix well – and Religious inclined parties need to evaluate their modus operandi and strategies well before going into politics – certainly when running for elections!

See The Articles Here!

http://majidwrite.com/2013/07/27/solving-our-own-problems/

The modern world does not mix well with politics – and as we see the mess all over the Islamic and Muslim world now – from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and particularly Syria and Egypt now in the making! My sincere advice – watch the Egyptian scene – another Ukraine in the making!

Now the IMF and others are targeting countries like Uganda because of ‘curbing homosexuality trends’ with enacting stiff penalty laws! The interference in others’ internal affairs becomes a matter of routine and practice – and knows no bounds or barriers.

I find it strange that some of those that supported Sissi take-over of Egypt have now left the country – and living abroad. And he Sissi had even ventured to go to Russia to buy weapons – and their support for him because of their dislike of so-called ‘Islamic Governments’ – and the Afghanistan invasion is still not a learner to them – even now years later!

And looking at events like in CAR where massacres of Muslims are daily occurences – under even the so-called watches of UN and International forces! They know they can – when we do to our own without any feelings of impunity and conscience – and the continuing proxy wars of The Islamic Leading countries that should work together to ‘protect and preserve Islam’ – rather than doing the opposite with great harm, destruction and calamities instead!

Excuse me  please! – I am not a Political Analyst or Expert – but please forgive me for not stopping to reflect now in all that is happening now – and in smirking all over my face now! I am not the one that likes to brag – but saying ‘I told you so!’ – applies to many of us now – even to the small environments like offices with dirty games of the Mafias and The Old Guards that do not trust their own – and ‘in shooting at their own troops’ instead!

The worst evil games is causing frictions, splits and divisions between people – and using polarization tricks even!

May The Good Lord Protect and Preserve us from his anger and fury – Ameen – Amen.

I do not know about you but I have recently found that at whichever turn I take now I do meet people that are not good nor sincere people in life that will make promises but not keep – and will purposefully and willfully annoy and upset you with bad hearts and intentions! They are the same people that would easily land you in great distress and troubles if it will suit them – and there are simply no red lines or barriers.

People that are proud and conceited – and even if they know they have done something purposefully wrong to you will Never Apologise – but smirk as you squirm and fidget.

People that will put fingers in your eyes – and expect you to not fidget and remain calm!

People that are moving us into polarization, divisions and splits – and abuse our hospitality, respect and welcome – because they see us divided, polarized, weak and docile!

People that are purposefully and willfully rude, arrogant, mean, vicious and dastardly!

Something gotta give – or break at anytime – like the cinder fire burning heatedly underneath before it surfaces – and explodes in our faces!

People that will judge and criticize you without knowing all the facts and the truth – because it suits them – or just do not care or bother!

It seems it is the in-thing fashionable thing to betray and cause harm and destruction as just being The Norm for many of them!

But the worst kind are those people that can help you in your plight and situation – but choose not to and not to be bothered! Why rock the boat? And what for?

Day by day things are getting worse – and even those people that were once considered nice and helpful are joining the bad and nasty group – with no scruples or conscientious objection.

We simply need to self analyse our selves and in deep conscience before we enter the cesspit of only more decay, decadence and malaise!!

Perhaps it is the age thing or depression setting in – or simply having been beaten many times before one has become sensitive and small things that never upset and annoy you before now do!

Perhaps being diabetic is also a contributory factor!

What do you think? Have you any views to share with the rest of us? Why are people so proud and conceited that only they are important and the rest are not! That they are only ones that are correct, ethical, principled and professional – but the rest are not!

It is not only outsiders but goes now with so-called friends, relatives and even family members too!

People that enjoy seeing others in troubles and distress – or enjoying putting them in troubles and distress.

No one cares or bothers anymore – and Religion has just become ‘a fashion’ – but not to put your soul, heart and mind into it!

And Yes! We do see things Live on Television how small things with bad hearts have turned so bad and led them to great disasters and calamities – but we ado not care nor bother – as if nothing can happen or touch us!

Allah have mercy on us!

Very sad and tragic!

May Allah Have mercy on us and Guide us to the right path and way – Ameen Amen

Does The State have a right to name our own children? 2

Does The State have a right to name our own children?

I would say a definitive, emphatic and affirmative yes – but sense and sensibility need to prevail also! Though I  think it is Shakespeare that had said a rose named by any other name would smell just as sweet! Of course with the Cynics adding ‘mind the thorns’!

If I wanted to name my son as Cheetah, Tiger or Lion in East Africa they would look me up in my face and ask me to have my head examined! But yet I have a son named as Fahad (Cheetah) because a great king had the same name!

Recently my son tried to name his newly born daughter as SIBEL – which has meaning of something like rain drops before it hits the ground – and so many other varied meanings – like Oracle, Prophetess etc – but all good and nothing bad in reality! It is also a common name in Turkey after a famous actress! Sebil Kekilli, Sebil Redzip – Muslim Turkish names!  In France it carries the connotation as ‘ so beautiful1’.

See Images below – Grandfather and Granddaughter (unnamed!) – Sibel (Turkey) – and Baby Sibel!

New Granddad Sibel 1 Sibel 2 Sibel Sybil New

His application has been turned down flatly and continuously as he goes up undefeated and determined  – even though the name is ‘in the acceptable names dictionary list’! Even after formed a committee to study the name! Like in most committees if you make annoyance in the beginning of your application – and especially to the influential person in the committee – who will see that his view reigns supreme!

These kind of ‘red tape and bureaucracy’ still irks and upset people very much  – despite all the changes being propagated and in modern tools and apparatuses! Our public officials will not change – it is in-built in them as ‘part and parcel’ of what they really are – and will not change!

For me personally I prefer respect and esteem than building big infrastructures etc – whilst the things in the public offices have simply not changed! But if these things can happen to even the highest public institutions in the country that should lead by real examples more than rather preach and rhetoric – I simply ask the favourite question like in my columns – what else is new?

May God Help and Direct us all into the right path and direction always – Ameen – Amen

Child Euthanasia! What is the world now coming to? Reply

Child Euthanasia! What is the world now coming to?

Now in our advancement, modernity, being fashionable and in being broad mindedness – we are looking for ‘legal methods and ways’ to kill our terminally sick suffering children! Soon the rest of us will copy and emulate – as in our Hadith – Islamic Teachings – ‘like following that lizard that went into a crevice’!

The sad bitter truth of the world now is people taking over ‘illegally’ and calling themselves legal – and those that were legal being branded as illegal! The Chinese have a saying – If you dig a grave for your enemy, dig two graves – and keep one for yourself! The East Africans also say – Those that dig a well will have to enter into it themselves! All metaphors and sayings that have great sense and meaning!

God Protect and Preserve us all from His Anger – Amin Amen!

Child Euthanasia – Press Coverage

Google for more details and information!

Belgian politicians have decided that terminally ill children suffering immense pain have the right to die.

It’s all over but the final voting in Belgium as the Parliament agrees across party lines that doctors should be able to euthanize children.

In the wake of several months of testimony from doctors and experts in medical ethics, a Belgian Senate committee will on June 12 examine the possible extension of the country’s euthanasia law to include children.

“On both sides of the linguistic border, liberals and socialists appear to agree on the fact that age should not be regarded as a decisive criteria in the event of a request for euthanasia, ”De Morgen. They want doctors to decide on a minor’s capacity for discernment on a case by case basis.

Treating a child like a sick horse is what passes for “compassion” these days

The Belgian Federal Parliament is reportedly about to expand its controversial “right to die” policies to include access to euthanasia for some gravely ill children.

A consensus among members of the legislative body has reportedly formed in support of legislation to allow children to choose to undergo euthanasia in certain dire cases, according to a report in the Belgian daily newspaper Der Morgen, as translated by the Paris-based news agency

If child euthanasia is legalized in Belgium, the country would become the first in the developed world to have a law on the books allowing the practice, although the Netherlands has since 2005 not prosecuted doctors who perform euthanasia on some minors as long as the doctors act in accordance with a set of medical guidelines dubbed the Groningen Protocol

Belgium became the second country in the world after the Netherlands to legalize euthanasia in 2002, but the statute currently extends only to people 18 or older

This Will Explain Why Stopping Writing For Now!

Explaining Why! Please Do Not Stop Writing!

This week was very hectic and traumatic with very emotional painful and exhaustive exchanges between me and an ex boss in PDO! The irony was he had never been a direct formal boss to me in any aspects – but was instrumental in causing dent to my career – whether by his own volition or by instructions from higher up!

My mistake was copying him amongst my other ‘friends’ an email protest type to one local English daily. In a response he curtly said to me – Quote –

Majid,

Two things.

1. Avoid criticising others unnecessarily. 2. Avoid GLORIFYING yourself excessively.

That is the secret of success.

Unquote.

From the goodness of his heart – he copied this email to ALL on the list. I had addressed this direct to The Editor – and my inadvertent stupidity in including him in the copy circulation list! And giving him that opportunity any person like he was would not let go away!

Not to bore you with more sordid details, but there was a reaction from my two strongest supporters after bitter rancorous hard hitting exchanges with him. He later tacitly apologised – but asked me to take him out from my mailing list – which I was now most inclined to do anyway without any further prompt from him.

A         Response verbatim from one addressed to someone he knows well in PDO – and copied to me – Quote –

Dear Ustaadh xxx and after compliments

In the name of Allah – With due respects Sir –

A friend had forwarded me the not necessary response that this guy YYYYY has sent to Ami Majid. Unfortunately, people miss the very important thing that this man is highly appreciated and followed by many young Omanis as one lone voice that really cares and feels for us!

He is one of the few that took great risks and dangers to himself even harm when even in PDO and he suffered a lot life later on because of his stand on things and everyone.

It is very sad and tragic that you his so-called friends treat him like this and I can only assume an element of jealousy and envy – perhaps because of his popularity. You have hurt him so much and now he has decided to stop writing his websites and columns.

Only time will tell the repercussions in the future and please accept my sincere apologies for this email. Forgive my English also Sir.

Allah protect and preserve our country from all things bad inside and outside Ameen – Unquote!

B         Response verbatim from Number Two Responder – Quote

Dear Majid

If you want my personal advice and sent in good faith please keep away from all these people ex PDO especially because you cannot remove the hypocrisies and double standards within them.

It will not surprise me and from seeing some of the names that they will be communicating to each other and laughing and sneering you behind your back. This is how they are and will always be! Some of them even got later in life great personal tragedies and woes in their lives and in their families but they will never learn!

Keep away from them and even stop writing even. This is a lost cause beyond redemption and only time will tell! So please keep away! All of them combined cannot even be 20% of what you are as Majid.

I will always pray for you and your family Amin

Unquote.

And finally to those that finally killed my columns – I said to them –

Quote –

I see that ZZZ (expatriate person) has now taken over my columns! It will not surprise me that you will be paying him even 3 or 4 times my rate – but that is how things are nowadays! So it is not surprising to me at all. Take care and all the best! – Unquote!

Now you know why I am giving writing in this website low priority from now onwards! It was good whilst it lasted – but everything 9good) has to end one day!

Wishing you all the best!

I was watching this documentary – Orphans of The Sahara – see my article here – https://majidsn.com/2014/01/11/orphans-of-the-sahara/ – and it made me realise that the world is full of problems that left unsolved would come to haunt and torture us in the future! I similarly believe that the unjustified invasion of Iraq under guise of WMDs and Israeli intransigence are the main causes of what the world is today – a dangerous world – full of calamities, destruction, havoc, miseries, decadence and malaise! Full of hatreds, animosities, divisions and splits amongst peoples – and even within some of the countries too!

We will all die one day – as did Sharon – https://majidsn.com/2014/01/15/sharons-legacy-only-death-is-irreversible/ – and before we meet our Maker – and The Punishment on Earth, The Grave and Eternal Hell Fire! We will leave the world empty handed just like we came – see Alexander’s Three Wishes below! No one is going to stay in this world for ever – however powerful and great that you think yourself to be!

Read also Why I Like Oman Foreign Policies here! http://majidall.com/?s=why+i+like

The problems that we are facing in the world today is people thinking they are always right, correct and ethical – and others are not. And twisted ironies where legal becomes illegal – and illegal becomes legal by use of force, torture, victimisation – and blind support from bigger more powerful forces – who should know better and are acting against the very principles, ethics and focuses that they really and originally stood for – in order to achieve quick short term personal and selfish interests!

And shouting Wolf – Fire – in order to scare and frighten people to think and act like them! Or to heed their calls! It is, therefore, very important for us especially The Believers – even if in vain and name only! – to return to the Right Path and Ways – before it is too late for you!

The Religious Leaders, Elders and Heads need to do more to bring people in together – instead of dividing peoples and nations! Lead by examples, deeds and actions – by ethics and principles – and how to behave and interact with others in life – knowing we will all die one day – and held responsible for our actions – and inactions too!

May The Good Lord Have Mercy and Compassion on us – and Guide us back to the right fold and ways – Amin Amen

The Three Final Wishes of Alexander the Great Alexander

Alexander was a great Greek king. As a military commander, he was undefeated and the most successful throughout history. On his way home from conquering many countries, he came down with an illness. At that moment, his captured territories, powerful army, sharp swords, and wealth all had no meaning to him. He realized that death would soon arrive and he would be unable to return to his homeland. He told his officers: “I will soon leave this world. I have three final wishes. You need to carry out what I tell you.” His generals, in tears, agreed.

“My first wish is to have my physician bring my coffin home alone. After a gasping for air, Alexander continued: “My second wish is scatter the gold, silver, and gems from my treasure-house along the path to the tomb when you ship my coffin to the grave.” After wrapping in a woolen blanket and resting for a while, he said: “My final wish it to put my hands outside the coffin.” People surrounding him all were very curious, but no one dare to ask the reason. Alexander’s most favored general kissed his hand and asked: “My Majesty, We will follow your instruction. But can you tell us why you want us to do it this way?”

After taking a deep breath, Alexander said: “I want everyone to understand the three lessons I have learned. To let my physician carry my coffin alone is to let people realize that a physician cannot really cure people’s illness. Especially when they face death, the physicians are powerless. I hope people will learn to treasure their lives. My second wish is to tell people not to be like me in pursuing wealth. I spent my whole life pursuing wealth, but I was wasting my time most of the time. My third wish to let people understand that I came to this world in empty hands and I will leave this world also in empty hands.” he closed his eyes after finished talking and stopped breathing.

The 50th Anniversary of The Bloody Zanzibar Revolution! Reply

The 50th Anniversary of The Bloody Zanzibar Revolution!

Today 12th January 2014 is the Fifty Years since the bloody ethnic cleansing Revolution in Zanzibar – and that is also full of deceit, double dealings, betrayals and letdowns!

On the morning of Sunday January 12th 1964 – we heard shots from the suburbs family rented house that we were staying in MwembeTanga Mapembeyaani in Zanzibar. My late Mother had this very strong intuition – May Allah Bless her and my father – and all the parents – for eternal peace and the highest of heavens – for my late Father to come in! He was chatting with our neighbour who was in all aspects a full fledged local African – near a Telephone booth.

My late Mother told me – tell your father to come inside NOW! So I shouted to him. Lucky for him he heeded the call and came in. A few minutes later – these Africans neighbours of ours lay dying – after being fatally shot by some rogue elements (fellow Africans too!) They were randomly shooting at everything and at everybody!

That morning my brother and I had an argument. So he tore at the picture of a Chicken Cock I had put up! That weird action saved our lives – because all those houses that had this picture – representing the Ruling Party were butchered in their homes… Read on!

Short Takes Two – Between Us Only!

***Aged 14 – 12th January 1964***

The shot rang out! They have killed my son, the Mother cried out to the rest of the Family huddled inside. Everybody was crying! We have lost our son, the Mother cried to the Father. The shot rang out again. It was all quiet outside the house, nobody knew what was happening. The one who said he was a Police Official and had lost his job – because of you peoples – had taken the boy outside. I want your eldest son, pointing his pistol at the family. I want to ask him some questions.

When a loaded pistol is pointed at you, there is hardly anything you can do, even if you are many. Besides, this was a new experience the family had never met before. An armed man who comes into your house, and wanting to kill someone because you come from that group of peoples who had made him lose his Sergeant job – though he was not an Islander, but came from the Mainland. From even a different country for that matter. And another faith too!

Like they say, what goes around comes around! If you do good things to peoples as part of your family’s focus and aspirations, you will be recognized – and good things will come back to you. The other armed men were now shouting to the Ex Police Man, what are you doing to the boy? They are innocent peoples, they respect everyone. Besides, they just came to this place. Leave him alone. They were pointing guns at him. Give us your pistol, they said to the man. The man gave it up unwillingly. They hit him by the butt of the rifle. He fell down. Now run they told him – or we shall shoot you next. Like also in each basket, there are good and bad fish or fruits – take your pick!

Your son is alive – the men told the family – Do not cry! He shot at him, but he missed him! It is God’s wish to send us to save you all. You need to come with us, to come to the refugee centre. This town on the outskirts are no longer safe for you peoples. The boy went in, they all hugged him – including his younger brother who was always picking fights with him, trying to undercut him being the leader of the pack!

***Now – 7th June 2009**

Now – I was watching this film. Just a few days before my birthday two days back. The bullied man was saying to the ‘stronger man’. I do not care, you know what? I am happy as what I am. As I am. You think you are better than me? No, you are not. I know what I am, I do not need to think of who I am. I am proud of myself. I know my strengths and my power points, my shortfalls – and whatever you want to say about me. Do not expect me to be like you, and follow you? You think you have won? That you are master of your fate? No, you are just kidding yourself. You only think in your mind that you are better than me, but you are not. You cannot create me, nor can you change me. I am what I am – like I said am proud of myself!

I sympathise with the man. I remember that day clearly. When my strongest of the country adversary – not sober and completely not in control of his faculties – said to me – Do you know why I hate you as your boss? Do you know why? I said, No Sir – I do not know why! Then he retorts – what kind of a person are you? Always trying to look good and be nice? Always the Actor? The one who is always after a popularity contest? To impress and show off to peoples. Pretending you do not smoke. You do not drink. You have no other vices? Whom are you trying to kid? I know you well. 15 years ago this was!

And then that call at 2 am at night 15 years ago again. I am going to board my plane now, the expatriate British man said. Please M – Do Not Change! Remain as you are. Follow your ethics and principles in life. Your focus. You think you have lost? No, you have won. You are far better than all the rest of all the competition to you put together, including even the top ones. They wish secretly they were like you, but cannot be. You care and feel for people. They know it, and cannot accept it. I can tell you now – one I am not sober, and two I am leaving your country forever. I respect and esteem you a lot, forever you will be on the top of my honours and respectable list. Please don’t change!

5 years ago in that other place, it was the Messengers of the place (from another country).Always the lower echelon who felt more. Two weeks ago in my own country, as I was leaving the place, one of the Expatriate Directors came to my room – he caught my hand and kissed it. He hugged me tightly! He then said almost the same very things to me. He was sad and desolate that I was leaving so soon.

I still have it in me – to touch everyone in one way or the other! That is me, and will never change. Hate me – like me – that is M for you!

More Omanis Needed For The English Media & Press! 2

More Omanis For English Media & Press! And Strong Omani Management & Leadership!

One of the hidden dangers in our strategic outlooks is to have allowed Foreigners – mainly Indian Nationals – and some European and Others to dominate the English Media and Press – including the even Government owned The Oman Daily Observer – and others like The Times of Oman and perhaps The Tribune too.

It is a strategic fact that the locals should control and dominate these sectors. Apart from a few figure head Omanis in Management positions – the underneath layers and reporting echeleons are mainly foreigners! They make sure that they reign supreme – with contesting for positions from the locals that are usually sidelined and marginalized by these shrewd Mafias – and with real ineffective weak docile local Managers! Some of them have poor levels in English – and thus depend entirely on the expatriates in order to survive!

Like I always like to say in my columns and in my Arab Management books – www.myown-ebooks.com and www.myownmajid.com – some of these Managers are like those same very Generals shooting at ‘their own troops’ – because they do not trust their own  – and have little faith and confidence on them too!

*** The expatriates are a cunning and shrewd lot – and know this – and know how to play their cards closely to their chests! And a lot of underground below the surfaces mischief making – and causing troubles, splits and divisions amongst the Omanis! Not all of them – but a substantial lot of them – scared and afraid of their jobs – Omanis – and those wanting to say The TRUTH ONLY! For sake of The Nation!

The Omanis Top Guys are typical docile and Weak Managers – lack leadership – and ‘that do not want to rock the boats’ – and that includes not upsetting especially The Indian Mafias. This is the sad and bitter truth! Just do not take my words for it! I know – because I suffered myself many times in these aspects! Even the others say ‘quietly on the sides’ in affirming what I am saying here!

One time I had an argument with a Top Profile Press Guy (Local) when I complained about an expatriate below him who had treated me very badly unprofessionally – and unethically – he retorted to me – I can give my soul to this Indian guy when I go to sleep – and when I wake up – he will give it back to me! To which I retorted back to him – Sorry Brother – You just left the fold of The Believers in associating a human being (not even a Believer too!) to God status – and that is blasphemy least said!

For our future and for the strategic and all valid reasons – The Leadership is urged to look at this situation more critically now! Time is of the essence!

*** OUTPOINT – Not all of them are anti-Omanis – like in most things – there are good fish (eggs) in each basket! Some of them – some! – are very proactive and dynamic in supporting, helping and in assisting Omanis – especially Junior ones under them – or budding New Columnists…
